You are very welcome to visit the "NIMA social
projects inTibet". The nearest airport is Chengdu and it will take a day or two
by jeep or bus to reach us from there. From Chengdu you will travel to
Kangding, the border city of the former Tibet. There is however, an enormous
difference in altitude and temperature; Chengdu has an altitude of 500 m and
Kangding is 2,600 m above sea level. The trip will take about 8 hours and the
roads are in quite good condition. From Kangding to Ganzi the road winds
through high valleys and passes which have an altitude between 4,000 and 5,000
m above sea level. Ganzi is 750 km away from Chengdu and there are 1,740 km
from Ganzi to Lhasa via Chamdo.
